With only a logo and one colour to work with, we needed to create a new brand for The Robertson Trust with a strong visual identity. It was important that this reflected both their position as thought-leaders in their sector, as well as their open and helpful funding reputation.
The existing website felt old in style and layout, information was hidden in documents and the IA needed more structure. It was not an efficient tool for guiding applicants through the application process. Advisors were spending lots of time dealing with repetitive enquiries which was increasing their workload and taking valuable time away from more complex queries.
The current content was also failing to fully communicate the breadth of The Robertson Trust's work, with few case studies and no strong, consistent storytelling style.
We worked closely with The Robertson Trust to understand their grant-making process, both online and offline. We were able to digitally transform the pre-application process, creating a gentle, visual, three-step guide to applying. We built-in an FAQs page to help field many of the questions potential applicants were asking advisors.
We helped The Robertson Trust commission a series of engaging funding stories. With a standardised fact panel and succinct style, they now have a successful format for content creation going forward. We created an image-led design to highlight their work, and a set of iconography for their priority funding areas to categorise their content.
We extracted some key statistics from the Trust's funding data to present in a digitally engaging way. Using data from their Salesforce powered grants database, we created friendly, interactive visualisations to show which funding areas are getting the most funding year on year, as well as the geographical funding breakdown on a heatmap of Scotland.
All of our project team enjoyed working with the EP team on our website re-design. It was a very collaborative approach which made the process easy to manage internally. - The guide to applying has accounted for over 20% of all page views
